This flight is approximately one hour long. We depart from Boeing field, down the Auburn Valley (which 5,000 years ago was filled in from Mt. Rainier's largest eruption). We climb up over the Enumclaw Plateau (the sight of Mt. Rainier's last eruption approx. 1,000 years age). Looming ahead of us at 14,411 ft above sea level, Mt. Rainier is the tallest of the five volcanoes in Washington. Flying around the mountain you will see the 25 permanent glaciers as they slowly move down the face of the mountain. We will fly over the crevasses that fall hundreds of feet into a deep glacier blue color as if illuminated from within. Then we'll climb over paradise and the camp Muir trail. This is truly an amazing flight.
